Roof Garden
A technically challenging modular roof terrace.
Brief
To create a stunning modular roof garden which has minimal weight and helps to suppress the wind.
Key Features
This beautiful hardwood decked garden presented quite a technical challenge. The entire garden was constructed at ground level and carried up three floors through standard width doorways. It was designed in triangular modules which would all tessellate perfectly when assembled on the terrace. The Triangles had the added advantage that they would not wobble on an uneven surface. The modular design also allowed the planters, seats and deck to be quickly and easily moved should any roof maintenance be required. The hardy plants were arranged in diagonal lines to act as wind breaks and reduce the wind-tunnel effect of the terrace. A modular seating area created a great space to socialise and enjoy the views.
